Why Choose Alba for Dental Crowns?
At Alba, we combine artistry with cutting-edge technology to deliver crowns that are both functional and beautiful. Our experienced team is dedicated to providing a seamless, stress-free experience in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Our Process for Dental Crowns
Our dental crown procedure is seamless and simple, taking place over two visits. A consultation is required to navigate the proceedings of your treatment. Our team will get to know you and the work that needs to be done. Once your dentist determines whether you need a dental crown or dental bridge and the exact approach required to achieve the best results, the procedure can commence.
Your First visit
Once you’re comfortable, your dentist will numb the area and remove a layer of the tooth’s outer surface, eliminating any decay, damaged tissue, and debris. The tooth is then resized to support the new porcelain crown. A mould is taken and sent to our lab, where a custom crown is crafted to match your natural tooth color and thickness. A temporary plastic crown is placed to protect the tooth until your final crown is ready, and we’ll provide care instructions to ensure its longevity.
Your Second Visit
The treatment area is numbed, and the temporary crown is removed. Your new crown is then fitted, adjusted for bite and comfort, and finalized once it meets both aesthetic and functional standards. Modern all-porcelain crowns are strong, durable, and natural-looking, with proper care lasting 10 to 30 years.

What Are Dental Crowns?
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its strength, shape, size, and appearance. It is commonly used for teeth that are severely decayed, fractured, or after a root canal treatment. Crowns can be made from various materials, including porcelain, ceramic, or a combination. The procedure involves reshaping the tooth, taking impressions, and fitting the custom-made crown securely.

At Alba, we use the finest quality materials to ensure durability, functionality, and a natural appearance, providing patients with long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing restorations.
Frequently asked dental crown questions
Are Dental Crowns Right For Me?
Dental crowns are ideal for teeth that are severely damaged, weakened, or decayed. They’re also perfect for protecting teeth after root canal treatment or improving the appearance of misshapen teeth. During your consultation, we’ll determine if crowns are the best solution for your specific situation.
Do My Teeth Need Shaved Down For Dental Crowns?
Yes, some enamel needs to be removed to ensure the crown fits properly and looks natural. However, we use conservative techniques to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible while ensuring optimal crown fit and function.
Is The Dental Crown Application Procedure Painful?
No, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, ensuring you’re comfortable throughout. Any mild discomfort after the procedure can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and typically subsides within a few days.
How Long Do Dental Crowns Last?
With proper care, dental crowns typically last 15 years or longer. Their longevity depends on factors like oral hygiene habits, diet, and grinding/clenching habits. Regular dental check-ups help ensure your crown’s long-term success.
How Should I Care For My Dental Crowns?
Care for your crown just like your natural teeth – brush twice daily, floss regularly, and maintain routine dental check-ups. Avoid extremely hard foods and using your teeth as tools to prevent damage to your crown.
Can Dental Crowns Be Replaced?
Yes, crowns can be safely replaced if they become damaged, worn, or you’re unhappy with their appearance. The process is similar to getting your initial crown, and we ensure the new crown matches your smile perfectly.
Are There Any Risks Associated With Dental Crowns?
While dental crowns are a safe and proven treatment, some patients may experience temporary sensitivity or minor discomfort initially. In rare cases, complications like tooth sensitivity or crown loosening may occur. Regular check-ups help prevent and address any potential issues early.
